Asus Zenfone 4 as modem to connect Internet from PC

Asus Zenfone 4 is one of most affordable Dual Android smartphone in India. It is powered by Dual Core 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2520 Processor with Intel Hyper Threading Technology CPU and 1GB of RAM.  The 4 inch display of this smartphone has the screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.  Asus Zenfone 4 sports 5MP rear primary camera and 0.3MP front facing camera. The Dual sim Android phone houses 1600 mAh battery. Internal storage of the device is 8GB and supports microSD card upto 64GB. Connectivity features of the device includes GPRS, EDGE, 3G, USB, Bluetooth, USB tethering and WiFi Hotspot.

How to Use Asus Zenfone 4 as Modem

You can use Asus Zenfone 4  USB tethering ,WiFi Hotspot  or Bluetooth tethering features to make it work like a modem. Let us look into one by one.
Asus Zenfone 4 USB Tethering
Asus Zenfone 4 USB tethering is the features through which we can use the device as USB modem.

• For this you need to install the USB drivers. You can get the  Zenfone 4 USB drivers for Windows from the support page from Asus. For more details you can refer my post on how to Download Asus Zenfone PC suite.The file size of this driver is 8.48MB. It is not Asus Zenfone 4 PC suite but a simple drivers which helps Windows Detect the smartphone properly.
• Connect your device to PC through USB cable
• Go to Application->Settings->More->Tethering & Wi-Fi hotspot. Enable USB tethering by tapping. 
• Enable data on your device. You computer will connect to internet using Asus Zenfone 4 as modem.

Asus Zenfone 4 as Wi-Fi hotspot

To use Asus Zenfone 4 as WiFi hotspot, follow the below mentioned steps.

• Tap on to "Menu" icon
• Click "Setting"
• Click "More"
• Click "Tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot".
• Click "Setup Wi-Fi hotspot" to edit the settings
• Enter or edit the Network SSID, Select the security features.
• Enter or Edit the password.
• Touch "Save".
• Tick the Portable "Wi-Fi Hotspot" box
• Begin using your New WiFi hotspot of Asus Zenfone 4.
