How to Use HTC One USB tethering

Sharing the data connection of HTC One to connect to the internet is called as HTC One USB tethering. For using HTC One USB tethring, you need to make sure, following things are ready.

• To make sure that the USB drivers for HTC One are up-to-date, install the latest version of HTC Sync Manager on your computer.
• Make sure a nano SIM card with a data plan is inserted in HTC One.
• You may need to have USB tethering added to your data plan, and it may incur additional cost. Contact your mobile service provider for details.
• Make sure that mobile data is turned on.

Now let us see how to enable HTC One USB tethering

• Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
• Tap Mobile network sharing > USB network setting > USB tethering (or Mobile network sharing > USB tethering).
• Connect HTC One to your computer using the provided USB cable. The next time HTC One connects to a computer, it will remember your settings.

This method is ideal for the computers which does not have WiFi. If you have WiFi enable device, then WiFi hotspot of HTC One is more convenient.

How to Use HTC One WiFi Hotspot

Sharing the data connection with other WiFi enabled devices by using HTC One as WiFi hotspot.. For using HTC One as WiFi hotspot, do remember to do the following things.

• Make sure the data connection is turned on.
• You must have an approved data plan associated with your account from your mobile service provider to use this service. Devices connected to your Wi‍-Fi hotspot use data from your subscribed data plan.

Now let us see how to enable HTC One WiFi Hotspot

• Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
• Tap Mobile network sharing.
• Tap the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot On/Off switch to turn it on.
• The first time you turn on the Wi‍-Fi hotspot, you'll need to set it up.
• Enter a hotspot name or use the default.
• Enter a password or use the default.
• The password is the key other people need to enter on their device so they can connect and use HTC One as a wireless router.
• To help make your Wi-Fi hotspot more secure, tap Advanced settings.
• Choose settings such as SSID and the security type, and then press .
• Tap Next and then tap Done.
• HTC One is ready to be used as a Wi‍-Fi hotspot when you see   on the status bar.

• It is highly recommended to use strong and unique password to minimize security risk
• WiFi Hotspot consumes battery very rapidly. So if your HTC One battery is low or you are outside, use this feature carefully.
